In a secure system, passwords are stored using non-reversible encryption, which means no one (system managers, developers, database administrators, hackers or anyone) can find out what it was.
If you've lost your password to any system (Microsoft, AT&T, Amazon, Bank of America, etc) and call their support line, they can reset your password to something new, but they won't be able to find or tell you what your password was.
This is protect you from your password falling into the wrongs hands, either their employees or outside hackers.
There are several external tools to help you remember passwords (Google Chrome has that built in).
