Finding lost passwords
Most secure systems are designed and built so that once a password has been saved, no one (not even the system managers, developers, database administrators, or anyone) can ever find out what that password was.
If you've lost your password to any system (Microsoft, AT&T, Amazon, Bank of America, etc) and call their support line, they can reset your password to something else to let you back in, but they can't find and tell you what your password was.
The primary reasons is to protect everyone from the risk that your password falls into the wrongs hands, either because of their own employees or outside hackers.
There are several external tools to help you remember passwords (Google Chrome has that built in) and other exceptions to this.
