Domain Trust Troubleshooting
DOMAIN TRUST ISSUES
- Unable to contact domain controller
- The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed
- The following error occurred attempting to join the domain
- The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted
- An Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) for the domain "COMPANY.local" could not be contacted
- The DHCP service failed to see a directory server for authentication
- This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller
- There are currently no logon servers available to service this logon request.
- Often DNS related
- Often related to network configurations
- Often related to problems with TCP/IP properties
ON WORKSTATION
- Check Network cable
- Check Network Adapter settings
- Check IP settings
- Check all Advanced settings
- Check Time
- Disable/Enable Network Adapter
- Disable/Enable "Microsoft File/Print" on NIC
- Rejoin the Domain
ON SERVER
- Check Network Adapter settings
- Check Time
- Flush/Scavange DHCP Server
- Flust/Scavange DNS Server
- Ensure 016 DOMAIN SERVER is correct in DHCP Scope
- Ensure "DHCP Server" service is running
- Ensure "DNS Server" service is running
- Ensure "WINS Server" service is running
- Ensure "NetLogon" service is running
- Check Server Event Log

Try using
netdom.exe to reset passwords
